Time for a Quiet Seat

A Snowy Seat

One of my favorite things about snow is how it dampens all sound and makes everything sound so much more peaceful and quiet. Sometimes the loud noise of the city is just to much and a bit of quiet is just what the doctor ordered for a mind with heavy thoughts and questions.

Questions and choices, as I get older, I keep finding that there are more and more choices to make and often each choice brings with it more and more questions. Questions about life, about the world, about who I am and who I want to be and what I am willing or not willing to sacrifice to get there. With the New Year just around the corner, it feels like this year there is even more uncertainty about the future than usual. For me this is not a comfortable situation. I’m used to being in control, I like being in control. Maybe this is a way for me to grow, for me to learn to let go of the control and go with the flow, as the saying goes. All I can do right now is hope that whatever challenges this new year brings, I hope I’m up to the task.
